Welcome to my first post on how to study Law! Studying Law is not easy and today I have concluded some basic tips on how I make studying law easier.
1. Case Briefs
I make a case summary for each case I have to read for my seminar/tutorial. It includes- 1. Facts 2. Issues 3. Judgment.
How I study a topic: lecture (ppt if any) –> cases + prepare case briefs –> Textbooks –> journal articles –> answer seminar/tutorial questions while you read –> participate in discussions during seminars/tutorials.
The easiest way to understand a concept in detail is to read your textbooks, and sometimes one textbook is not enough. If you don’t have time, only read the part you don’t understand.
2. Don’t be silly, you can’t read everything
It is impossible to read everything on the list in detail. You cannot read the full judgment of every single case.
Apart from journal articles and textbooks, I had about 440 cases on my Company Law compulsory reading list. Don’t try to read everything. Some judgments have over a hundred pages + you need to time search for the cases on databases. You won’t have enough time to finish them. I suggest finding reliable case summaries, forming study groups and working with your friends. If you want to read full judgment, you may read the full judgment of leading/important cases.
3. Study Groups
What you should NOT do:-
Sit together and study for 5 hours.
What you SHOULD do:-
Treat it like a seminar / tutorial. Study before meeting your friends. Discuss, exchange ideas and learn from each other during the study session.
4. Application and Understanding
Application is very important. There is no point in memorizing all the cases/ statutes. Most of the time you get points and marks by explaining how the cases are applicable in the scenario, or your analysis on that case. You must understand the rulings and principles, and know how to apply them.
5. Read case facts if you have time
Case facts help you understand rulings better. It helps you apply cases to problem/scenario type questions so much easier.
6. Do Past papers
Past exam papers are very important as they tell you the “trend” of question types. When you don’t have the time to study everything, you should find out what are the topics that you can skip and what are the things that you need to focus on. Past exam papers also allow you to practise your application skills!
It’s a career type that tends to get a lot of flak, and is often portrayed in a negative light on the big screen. Being a lawyer, though, doesn’t have to be about bad suits, bad choices, or bad manners. A legal career can be a wonderful calling and offer a huge amount of opportunities and job satisfaction.
Whether you’re trying to work out a path of employment after you leave school, or have been working for years and need a career change, choosing to join the legal industry might be just what you’re looking for. While it does take a committed person to take on the time and financial investments needed, there are plenty of compensations to keep in mind. Read on for some of the top reasons you should consider becoming a lawyer.
1. The Ability to Help Others
Many lawyers join the legal profession because they want the chance to help make the world a better place. Whether you’re interested in environmental, family, business, civil rights, personal injury, immigration, or military law, to name a few, there are many opportunities to use legal skills to help people, animals, and the environment. Lawyers are in a position to help protect individuals, groups, companies, and the voiceless — such as children, animals, and the planet.
Lawyers have a chance to further the public good and have an impact on the way the world runs. Many people in the legal profession perform pro-bono work during their career. This helps under-served parts of the population (like children, victims of abuse, the elderly, the marginalised, and low-income clients), who might not otherwise be able to afford the services of a lawyer.
2. Flexibility
One of the best perks of being a lawyer is the flexibility it affords, in many different areas. For a start, many people in the legal profession have the ability to set their own fees, choose their hours, and select the clients they want to work with. In addition, the industry is one in which there are dozens of specialised areas to work in.
Lawyers can pick and choose the type of subject matter they want to work on during their career, or even change their specialty multiple times if they feel like they want to learn about another field or simply need a new job. If you join the legal profession you can choose to take a variety of paths during your lifetime, from working as a public defender, to starting your own legal firm, or sitting on the board of a multinational organisation. You can choose to join a boutique law firm and work across multiple fields, or you can work for a leading company such as Claims Direct, a trading name of Slater and Gordon, employing more than 1,200 staff in the UK. No matter what your interests or preference, you’re sure to enjoy the flexibility a career in the legal industry provides.
3.Transferable skills
Although the costs, in both time and money, of going to law school are high, once you receive your legal qualifications you will always have that knowledge. Unlike money and prestige, education can never be lost, and will continue to stand you in good stead throughout your career. Even if, over the years, you feel like you need a change of pace and want to explore opportunities outside the legal arena, you’ll always be able to use the skills you picked up during study and while practicing law. Having a legal degree can open up lots of doors to new opportunities in many different career areas, and often serves as a stepping stone for people during their life. Legal skills can be utilised in many other industries and job types, from academia and consulting, to writing, management, mediation, law enforcement, and more.
4.Earning Potential
If you’re looking for a well-paid and solid career choice, joining the legal industry might be the right choice. Lawyers tend to be one of the highest-paid professional groups around, and attorney salaries tend to sit well above the national average in most countries around the world. Indeed, some of the top lawyers across the globe are able to fetch million-dollar incomes, thereby setting them up for life. If earning potential is important to you, take some time to consider the firm you will work for, the geographic area you’ll practice in, and the particular legal specialty you will choose. Lawyers who are the top paid are generally living and practicing in major cities, work for large law firms (or own their own) and become a specialist in their field.

5. The Intellectual Challenge
Anyone wanting a career that will continually see them stretching themselves intellectually should consider becoming a lawyer. Beyond the initial years of study, those in the legal profession need to stay constantly up to date on new laws and continue to hone their problem-solving, negotiating, relationship-building, analytic, and creative-thinking skills to succeed. Whether working on billion-dollar business mergers, trade-secret patents, tricky family law situations, or top criminal cases, lawyers are constantly challenged to wield their intellectual abilities.
Admit it, you’re overthinking whether or not you’re an overthinker even as you read this. I know, because I’ve been there. It can be debilitating at times to think so much about everything that you can actually cause yourself to have an anxiety or panic attack if it gets too out of hand.
What it feels like to be an overthinker For a moment, let’s think about our thoughts (weird, right?) like a web browser. Being an overthinker feels like you have about 15 tabs open at the same time and are constantly clicking back and forth reading multiple things, closing some only to reopen them seconds later, then reading something and thinking of something else and opening another tab before you forget about that, too.
Whew. I’m stressed out just typing that. Being an overthinker means researching things well beyond the point necessary and having more to-do lists than you know what to do with, pun intended.
Lack of Confidence
Overthinking typically stems from a lack of confidence. Now, this does not necessarily mean a lack of confidence in yourself, though it can. It usually is more specific to a lack of confidence with desires and decisions.
This often causes a lot of anxiety, stress, and indecision which creates – you guessed it – overthinking. It can be hard to determine if a decision is one you really want. This is only one of many possible causes for overthinking, but it is almost always tied to a lack of confidence.
Indecision
The inability to make decisions can come at a great cost. Eventually, if you do not choose something, a choice will make itself. For example, if you do not respond to a job offer because you are unsure, they may revoke it or offer it to someone else. If you are unhappy in a relationship and are unsure of whether or not you’ll find someone else if you leave, you may spend the rest of your life unhappy or waiting for the other person to end it so you don’t have to.
Indecision is bred from fear of the unknown. It can also stem from inexperience. Maybe you need to make a big decision at work that you’ve never dealt with before, so you feel paralyzed. Again, this comes from fear of the unknown – more specifically, fear of failure.
The next time you feel stuck, journal out the best and worst possible outcomes, and why you are afraid to decide either way. This should help you untangle the conflicting thoughts in your head and give you some clarity to be able to move forward.
Relationships
Overthinking and indecision can have great costs in your personal and professional life. If you say yes to every offer to hang out with people, even though you may not like them, may be busy, or are simply not interested in joining…you run the risk of losing those friendships entirely when you inevitably flake again and again on things you said yes to.
The same goes for work. If you are unable to make decisions, people will not be confident in your abilities to carry out your job and you will not be the top candidate when a promotion comes around. Companies need people they can rely on, even if they make mistakes.
How to cope !?
The first step to overcoming overthinking is to admit you have a problem with it. If you’re reading this article, there’s a good chance you’re already at this stage and that’s great. Next, take some time to care for yourself. Learn when to tune out. Meditation and journaling are fantastic ways to quiet the mind and get in touch with your true emotions, which can bring forth clarity and decision-making. If you’re still struggling, seek out therapy to talk things through and learn new ways to cope with overthinking so you can be the confident, amazing woman we both know you are.
Why not live life eating, drinking, shopping, making money, partying and pampering our senses?
This is all we all do!😶
After all, this world too has been made by God, and He has placed us in positions in our family, society and in the world. So why not get to God through enjoying the material world and its pleasures? Wouldn’t we get to know God by living this way too ?
The problem with this choice of life is that it draws you into a maze where you cannot find yourself, God, or any peace of mind, and you certainly can’t find lasting joy.
How do we come to follow the spiritual path?
Your life is your spiritual path ✨
We take up the spiritual path hoping and expecting that something unusual will happen to us through the ‘spiritual’ life we lead. It might be like undertaking an experiment, to see if there is any merit in the stories we have heard about miracles, visions, and spiritual powers, or if it’s just some kind of mass hypnosis. When we embark on the ‘spiritual’ path with this mindset, skepticism, not sincerity, would colour the experience, and it’s probable that we wouldn’t have the discipline or endurance to actually lead a spiritual life. We might quickly drop away at the first sense of inconvenience.
Some need miracles to support any belief in the validity of the spiritual life. Now, a miracle is exactly that…it may happen or it may not. If a miracle doesn’t happen, or if one happens in a way too subtle for us to take notice, we are not convinced of the validity of the spiritual life and its goals, and would normally fall off of it.
Inner soul without spirituality .
So, what is the best approach to take for a spiritual life, for the spiritual path? If we are not to pursue definite goals, what is the purpose of such a life? What advantages does it have over a normal life devoted to the pursuit of worldly pleasures?
Does bliss really accompany a journey on the spiritual path? In answer to this question, I’d like to narrate my own experience.
After being seeker’s of many years i found the path of spirituality through consistently scrolling and viewing a exact content i wanted in my life.I found it on YouTube ,Amritvela Trust channel which i have been following and listening to it from near about 2years ! The truth of the teachings of the countless saints and sages has established itself within me as an abiding sense of stillness. My daily life has taken on a glow of interest and intrigue. I feel an increasing awareness of others. Sometimes an awareness of their reality seems stronger than that of my own, as though my own reality although tangible, exists only by way of an aside. My thoughts and mind feel connected with everything happening around me; nothing is surprising. Nothing seems impossible. Duties and chores I need to perform are easy, the jobs I can undertake are seemingly without limits. Mental blocks have melted away. Physical limitations remain, but the mind itself is willing for undertaking any opportunity to serve that comes up. This feels like freedom. In my mind and heart I feel free. There is no sense of fear, whether of the unknown, or of any harm that can affect me. I have a sense of freedom from desires, of strength in my own self and a joy in the simple process of being alive and well.
Spiritual Awakening stages.💫
Give spirituality and the spiritual path a sincere effort. Give it time to take hold in you, to experience true inner peace and stillness, before you make a conclusion as to its usefulness and benefits to your life. Through following the spiritual path, we can have the true nature of our own Self and our place in creation. Through sincere and dedicated spiritual practices, you can experience that blissful, awakened state, which will be a confirmation that the spiritual path is worthy of your time and effort.
Now it’s your time to decide what you want to do in your life to build a positive transformation in yourself!

We’re addicted to our habit of procrastinating! We know it’s wrong but so many of us still think it’s ok.We still get our sh**t done, all good!”But it’s not all good!! It’s a seriously bad habit that we must get a grip on and stop.
We must overcome Procrastination!!But How;?
Here is a list of the causes of Procrastination and a really wonderful solution. If you follow on in your life.
1. We are afraid of failure (Who isn’t??)
Solution:- The very first thing you must remind yourself is this: no matter what you have to do,you are never a loser and a failure ,even if it doesn’t work out the way you want it to. You absolutely must give yourself a HUGE pat on the back for attempting whatever it is.
Be proud of yourself ; you made it!!
2.We are too lazy (Admit it,you are!)
Solution:- We all are lazy doing things and it shows weakness. So how on earth do we stop being lazy?
Check out articles for more help on that
3. What we want to do is too time consuming (it’s gonna make too looooooong!!!)
Solution:- There’s a great quote that goes something like this:
Don’t worry about how long it will take to achieve your goal. The time will pass anyway..
Stop excusing and chase your dreams✨🌍
4.What we have to do isn’t something that we love to do but have to do (Ughhhh!!)
Solution:- It’s everytime not the thing we do is we love. We all have to understand this and keep going without overthinking. Take a cup of coffee! Drink it,and make your things done.
5. We’re not sure how to do it (help!!)
Solution:- Learn how to do the things and then do it. It just might be your next favourite thing in the whole wide world to do.
6. We have unreasonable expectations.(don’t we??)
Solution:- We have to be proud of ourselves every damn step of the way no matter where your path leads you or where you end up.
7. We all feel too overwhelmed! (Abd that’s where procrastination begins)
Solution:- We are so overwhelmed by the whole thing I just didn’t even get on it. Fear does that too.And in order to overcome Procrastination facing fear and conquering it is so important!!
